TOMBSTONES IN THE METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY, NEW HOPE PA.
This was a small project that I did for the Spruance Library in Doylestown Pa. The
original was in rather poor condition which was retyped in its original form and was
indexed at the end. (Note when the file was transferred to Front Page Explorer it lost a
lot of its original form.
The old Methodist Church Cemetery lies on the West side of the driveway to St. Martin's
Roman Catholic Church on Mechanic Street, above New Street in New Hope, Pa. Many of the
stones are damaged or broken and as many as four or five were piled in back of a more
substantial or better preserved stone. There are roughly five rows facing the driveway,
and reading from left to right they are as follows:

NOTE: An early map of New Hope indicated the Methodist Church at the corner
of Mechanic and New Streets. This property was later purchased by St. Martin's
Roman Catholic Church, and the new Methodist Church was built on Main St.
between Ferry and Bridge, and next door to Logan Inn. (See attached sketch
of New Hope) [NOT INCLUDED HERE]
