The Mechanicsville Cemetery

 

 

The Mechanicsville Cemetery and Land Association is located on Durham Road, A. K. A. Route 413. The cemetery is basically rectangular in dimension with a circular garden type area in the center. The land mass is approximately 15 acres and has historical value to me particularly through my Strouse Family. The cemetery is still quite active and well kept. Francis Wise Waite had recorded the tombstones 12 Jan 1980. The book is on file as so many of her pieces at the Spruance library in the mercer Museum, Doylestown, Pa. Although the Covenant Presbyterian Church occupies the chapel adjacent to the cemetery, to the best of my knowledge there is no connection between the two.

            Many cemeteries are very difficult to photograph, this one is no exception. The circular drive in the center and  larger sections make it difficult to do in less than five or six pictures. I have placed only one picture here.
