| Loved the article. Grew up in the area. My Aunt Martha owned Stoney Point Grocery. I am always interested in hearing about the past in the area I grew up in. I find it really fascinating-would love to see old pictures from the area on what it looked like 50 years ago and longer. Thanks for an interesting article! |

Larry my maternal Great Grandfather Flory Ciongoli was born around 1892 in Italy and with his wife Alponsia Radano had 6 children ( Joe, Frank, Ernie, Chris, Nellie, Rosie ) that lived in West New York (Hudson County) New Jersey.
Some info indicates that the original spelling was Ciangoli- I had heard that Salerno might have been the point of origin

| this is wonderful info...but how do the Ciongolis and the Hillpots connect? I have some info about the Ciongoli's that stayed in the Pgh area...5 brothers came to the America's about the same time...one in California, new jrsey, Pgh, Brasil and I think Connecticut. |
