Erwin Burying Ground

Located about 180 yards north of the Frenchtown, Delaware Bridge on the western side of River road.  Taken from the notes of B. F. Fackenthal, Jr., August 20, 1922.

“This cemetery is enclosed within a substantial brick wall, with stone coping. Size on outside 40’ 6’’ fronting on the river by 86’ 4” deep. Entrance through iron gates from the river side.” This burying ground is rather small in size and contains the graves of the following, I hope to photograph the site in the early spring. The following is Mr. Fackenthal’s listings of the graves. Although Mr. Fackenthal’s report is in depth and contains a good deal of information, I will examine and report the current condition., Larry Hillpot
